CLD #556

For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L.
The value of Torah and Mitzvot is what makes the difference between a glorious Talmid Chacham and a regular Jew on the street. Its not about the length of the beard or the whiteness of the person’s Tallit or even the value of the person’s suit. Its all in the heart. If you have two Jews filled with Torah the difference between them is their intention, their kavanah, their heart and soul into what they do.

On Lel Shabbat we will be enjoying the greatest Chag of the year, Pesach 5772. This holiday is all about getting our heart into our actions. Someone can look at Matzah and think: this is just a dry piece of messed up bread. There is no need to eat more than 100 grams of this! And what’s the big deal? So what?! A couple million people ran away from Pharoah and there was some wind that cause the sea to split and then the waters fell on the Egyptians. Woah!

But then you have a Talmid Chacham, with their eyes sparkling with Kedusha and Emunah, oozing love for Hashem and Fear of the Heavens all around them! They constantly crave the love of Hashem to come into their soul and spread throughout the entire room. They look at Matzah and see the freedom of having their humane desires under control, where they feel like the Sons of our forefathers: Avarahm Yitzchak and Yaakov! They look at the Marror and think of all the suffering Am Yisrael have went through and think when will we have the zechut (privelige) to sacrifice a healthy animal to Hashem to say thank you for everything!

It doesn’t stop here, it actually only begins in public. But how much holiness and purity is in a Jew’s heart in private, how much does a Jew thank Hashem in private?! Be’ezrat Hashem we need to reach a level where our Hearts are devoted to Hashem, or at least that we want to want our hearts to be devoted to Hashem and no other outside spiritual force!

SHAVUA TOV & CHAG KASHER VE SAMEACH!
