KOL HASHONEH HALACHOT BECHOL YOM MUVTACH LO SHEH'HOO BEN HA'OLAM HABA

For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L. Lehavdeel For the Refua Shlema of Chai Yaakov ben Margalit shlit’a.
Translated from Yalkut Yosef Kitzur Shulchan Aruch:

1. One is obligated to be involved in the Seuda of Purim until he does not know the difference between Cursed is Haman and Blessed is Mordechai! One drinks (red) wine that he will be in Simcha and will become a little intoxicated. The idea is to sleep from the intoxication on Purim Day. When we learn to not be able to distinguish between the Rasha and the Tzadik, we do not mean to become overly intoxicated in a belittling and gross way. Because this type of intoxication is a complete prohibiton and there is no sin bigger than this because it leads to murder, sexual immorality and idolatry! Therefore, if one knows that by drinking they will fail at a Mitzvah and fall to do an Avera (sin), or miss Birkat HaMazon, or is he is a Talmid Chacham (Torah Scholar) he will disgrace the name of the Torah with his foolishness; all these reasons mean one should only drink a tiny bit not to become intoxicated.

2. If one’s Seuda was prolonged into the Night of Tet-Vav (15th Adar, which will be after 6:35pm tonight), then they still say “Al HaNisim” in Birkat HaMazon. All this stands if he did not already say the Tefillah of Arvit, but if someone said Arvit then they cannot say “Al HaNisim” for Purim in Birkat HaMazon of their Seuda (meal).

PURIM SAMEACH!
