L’yilui Nishamt Avraham ben Ester.
From Mekor Chaim Kitzur Shulchan Aruch:
1. For one to fulfill the obligation of doing
Kiddush on red wine during the Lel Shabbat meal, they must drink a full cheek’s
worth of wine (Melo Lugmav). But it’s the best and recommended to drink
a Revi’it worth of wine (87 grams or 3.1 ounces ) if one
can. If one of the people on the table (not specifically the one who did the
Kiddush) drank a Revi’it worth of wine, then it is as if everyon fulfilled the
obligation of Kiddush and it is a Mitzvah for everyone to taste from the
Kiddush cup. If no one can drink a Revi’it’s worth of wine, then if everyone together
had a Revi’it, then that qualifies for the minimum amount which is needed.
2. Women are also obligated in fulfilling this Mitzvah of Kiddush Lel Shabbat, even if it a Mitzvah that depends on a specific time set (we learn this from the words of the Torah “Shamor” and “Zachor.” Women are also obligated in the safekeeping of the Shabbat (avoiding the 39 Melachot, or prohibited Shabbat work) just like men who are obligated from the Torah.
