For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L. Lehavdeel
For the Refua Shlema of Chai Yaakov ben Margalit shlit’a.
Translated from Mekor Chaim Kitzur Shulchan Aruch:
1. David HaMelech writes Sheviti
Hashem LeNegdi Tamid, I have placed Hashem before me constantly (Tehillim
16:8)…where David HaMelech is trying to say I haven’t swept my thoughts away
from Hashem like He is my right hand. Man’s actions and behaviors, whether they
are made by his feet or arms, will never be the same in front of a King as opposed
to being in front of the people of his household. When someone chooses The Path
of Shlemut (perfection) with Hashem,
when they wake they need to know that The King of all kings is glued to him/her
and is watching over him/her.
2. One should be as strong (emotionally, psychologically, but
not necessarily physically) as a lion to wake up to do the work of Serving
Hashem by being a Halachically observant Jew. Right after waking up, one should
testify in his/her belief in Hashem by saying “Modeh Ani.” Even though one’s
hands are not clean (without Netillat Yadayim), one can still say Modeh Ani
because Hashem’s name does not appear there.
