For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L. Lehavdeel
For the Refua Shlema of Chai Yaakov ben Margalit shlit’a.
Translated from Mekor Chaim Kitzur Shulchan Aruch:
1. When the Shaliach
Tzibbur (Chazan) is repeating the Amida (Shmoneh Esreh), the congregation
must stay silent and have the intention of saying Amen to the Berachot. If
there are not at least nine people
answering Amen to the Berachot of the Chazan during the repetition of the
Amida, then these Berachot are similar to Berachot LeVatalah (said in vain). Therefore each person should act as if he
is the ninth person answering Amen. If the Chazan has the suspicion that there
are not nine people answering Amen with the right intention, then he should
have the intention of saying Chazarat
HaShat”z (repition of the Amida) as a Tefillat Nedava (voluntary).
2. During urgent times (extenuating circumstances), when
there is not much time for Mincha left or if the amount of people is exactly 10
and there is obviously some people who won’t have the proper intention during
the Chazara (repition of the Amida),
the group of people can simply tell one of the group to say out loud the first
three Berachot out loud with Kedusha
(Nakdishach/Nekadesh…) until the end of the “Ha’El HaKadosh” Beracha.
