For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L. Lehavdeel
For the Refua Shlema of Chai Yaakov ben Margalit shlit’a.
Translated from Mekor Chaim Kitzur Shulchan Aruch:
1. Forever one should be used to saying: Kol Ha’Avid DeRachmanah Letav Avid, All
that happens that comes from Hashem, it is for the good. One should never
lessen his/her faith and bitachon
(trust) in Hashem, because Hashem can turnover the worst and most wicked event
into the happiest miracle. This happened to Nachum Ish GamZo, a famous tzadik
in the Gemara (Rosh HaShanah 21), that whatever happened to him he took with
great happiness and said “Gam Zu LeTovah,” this is also for the good. As it
says in Tehillim: the one who has trust in Hashem will be surrounded by
kindness and charity.
2. Its at man’s choice to direct him/herself to the good
path and be a tzadik/tzadeket (righteous) or its man’s choice to direct
him/herself to the bad path and be a rasha/reshait (wicked). From Yirmiyahu we
learn that Hashem did not decree that the person becomes a Rasha or a Tzadik,
and because this is so we find out that the one who sins loses for him/herself.
And this is a solid foundation of the Torah that we learn from Pesukim (verses)
that Hashem gives us the opportunity to do what we want with our lives.
