For
the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester.
1. A cross that priests and Christians bow down to is viewed as Avodah Zara (Idolatry), therefore one cannot have a cross in their home. Hats and clothing that have crosses or similar looking objects on them from the origin of the Halacha (Law) one is still allowed to wear those clothes because the Goyim do not bow down to their gods by putting these crosses on clothes. However it is good and correct not to wear these clothes in order to prevent making this symbol famous/known. In any case, if one does not have any other clothes he/she is allowed to wear it, even if the cross is bolded.
2. One should not go to women who read cards or look into people’s palsm to guess the future because one should not go investigate what Hashem holds for him/her in the future (as it says in a pasuk in Devarim “Tamim Tehiyeh Im Hashem Elokecha ”.) One should rather believe that everything that is going to happen to him/her is all based on his/her own closeness to Hashem. Also these women do not always know the future entailed and they confuse the truth with the lies and therefore one should avoid going to these women.
