For the Refua Shlema of Mordechai Tzvi ben
Sara & Binyamin ben Blanka.
HaRav Yitzchak Fenger (theCLD has posted his Shiur on how he
became religious in Hebrew on the blog as the Video of the Week in the past)
says something beautiful about Tefillah (prayer). One person went to the Great
Chafetz Chayim (who wrote Shmirat HaLashon and the famous Mishnah Brura) and
asked him: Rabbi, please pray for me! Give me a blessing that I should have X,
Y, Z…! The Chafetz Chayim answered: I can pray for you and everything is all
nice and cute, but the truth is Hashem wants YOU to pray to Him, not others to
pray in your name!
We are made up of two parts: a Neshama and a Guf (soul and body).
The Neshama all day is craving for Hashem. It says: I WANT TO SPEAK TO HASHEM,
I WANT TO GET CLOSER TO HIM. Why?
Because Hashem had all the Neshamot together with Him in the
higher worlds. They were all connected to the source of everlasting good, they
did not need anything else.
When a Neshama is brought to this spiritual dirty world, it is in
great suffering! Therefore, it always wishes for the Guf to act in Torah
related manners/actions. This causes an endless good on to others and the
entire world.
When we do not act in any way shape or form we are not completing
the mission of the Nesham in this world, because we were all brought into the
world to complete something ONLY WE CAN COMPLETE. Meaning each individual is
different.
We reach this level (with the help of Hashem) of completion by
doing all the Mitzvot, because Hashem did not bring us into the world with a
MicroSD slot in our Heads, a map to find that MicroSD with the information to
fulfill our ‘spiritual duty’ and money to buy that MicroSD Card.
But even more so how do we get to this level? By Praying. When we
pray to Hashem, He realizes we CARE, even though He knows if you care or not.
The only way to really get His attention is to pray with all our hearts.
B’H Lichvod Shabbat Kodesh we should all push ourselves to reach
our spiritual potentials tonight to get ready for tomorrow’s acceptance of
Shabbat Kodesh onto the entire world. A Tefillah to Hashem never hurts: “Hashem
please make sure everything works out for Shabbat and help me get to the right
place to celebrate Shabbat how it is supposed to be celebrated! Put me in the right path!”
SHABBAT
SHALOM!
