For the Refua Shlema of Mordechai Tzvi ben Sara & Binyamin ben Blanka.
When one goes into the Sukkah, they go through
a process of Purity, a process of cleaning oneself from sin.
Therefore, the Sukkah is a place of Purity.
But Why?
Because it is like one of 4 things that makes
the literal human body be immersed/used up fully. What are these four things?
1) A Mikveh (Rambam)
2) A Sukkah (Chazal)
3) Shabbat (Chazal) &
4) Torah (Chazal).
Modern Day Mikveh. |
The grandfather of the Chida (Rav Chaim Yosef David Azulai), Rabbi Avraham Azulai teaches that when someone has
the sudden thirst to do a Chet (sin),
he/she is under Ruach Shtut (spirit/wind
of ‘stupidness’). If one takes a second and thinks about what life is all
about, he/she sees that Hashem has placed them there for a reason and there is
no such thing as ‘go with the flow.’ So if Hashem gave me life, than obviously
there is something in this world for me to enjoy because Hashem is ‘all good.’
Then with this understanding, we see that it makes sense when Chazal tell us
that one is under Ruach Shtut when
wanting to do a Chet/Avon/Pesha (the three types of sins).
SO, the physical nature of wind is simple. It
is the pressures on gases that cause air to move throughout the globe’s
atmosphere. We can see that wind is only active above water. But in water the
wind cannot be activated, it cannot be pushed to move air at all!
So why is a Mikveh, a spiritual bath, the
place where one is Tahor (purified)? Because the Ruach Shtut cannot go inside it! And what is the process of going
into the Mikveh: Being COMPLETELY immersed in the waters of the bath/pool. The
same with the Sukkah. The entire human body is immersed in the Mitzavh of
sitting in the Sukkah because the Sukkah engulfs the body from all directions!
This is another sign of Hashem’s love and care
for Am Yisrael, because He protects us from all directions.
The Sukkah is not as simple as it looks.
This causes an infinite amount of Simcha!!! Look how much Hashem
loves us!!!
Chag Sameach :D!
