1. There are those who say the Mitzvot Ben Adam LeChavero (between person to person) do not need the intention of doing the Mitzvah itself during the Mitzvah itself. These Mitzvot include Tzedaka, Chessed, Kibud Av ve Em, Kibud Rav, and the like and the reason for these Miztvot not needing the intention of doing a Mitzvah is because in the end of the day the Mitzvah is done and accomplished.
2. When one comes to do Kriyat Shma, before he/she begins the Kriya, he/she needs to have the intention to establish the Mitzvah of Uniting Hashem’s name, and one who reads Shma should read it in fear to the point of shaking and sweat.
