L’yilui Nishmat Avraham ben Ester & Israel ben Rivka.
From Yalkut Yosef:
1. After one uses the bathroom, either for solid or liquid excretions, he/she needs to do Netillat Yadayim (without Bracha) and say Birkat Asher Yatzar (in your Siddur). When saying this Bracha, he/she needs to have the intention of focusing on the wisdom Hashem used to create man and his entire biological system. This system is made up of many cells, with each cell given to man to operate in a certain way to defend the body from certain harmful germs that enter the body. Through saying Birkat Asher Yatzar one really shows thanks to Hashem with Simcha. Also when one says “Liphne Kise Kvodecha,” Before Your Chair of Respect, he/she is testifying that Hashem is the one who rules this delicate world.
2. Women also need to say the Bracha of Asher Yatzar. Children at age six and above need to be taught to say the Bracha as well after the use of the bathroom. All need to learn this Bracha by heart in order to make a big “Tikkun” (fixing) in the world and to understand its meaning when saying these fundamental words that make up Birkat Asher Yatzar.
