Please Learn for the Refua Shlema of my Grandpa, Avraham ben Ester
From Ve'En Lamo Michshol:
1. A person who stands in front of Hashem to pray needs to wear clean washed clothing just like he/she is standing in front of a King of a country or an important person. Therefore it is NOT Derech Eretz to stand in front of Hashem with dirty work clothes. Therefore, one should do as much as he/she can to change his/her work clothes before Tefillah and to wear clothes proper for Tefillah.
2. Someone who wants to drink should be stringent not to drink from the bottle opening, especially in the middle of trouble [on bus, subway, walking, in taxi, etc.]. Therefore, one should look to drink out of a cup to drink by Derech Eretz and with respect. However, in general, if one drinks from the can or bottle straight [just like today with water bottles], there is room for leniency because this is the way to drink it.
