SHAVUA TOV! I wish regular days had the value of Shabat and Shabat had the value of a Yom Chol because then we would have 6 days of Shabat and 1 day of Yom Chol.


Jews in particular love decorating themselves with accessories and little things that add appeal/attraction, etc. One of these things that we can and should all use is the power of the Cologne/Perfume. With a fragrance we add love, attraction, an extra boost to show that the event one is attending is more special and higher in levels of spirituality.
When one showers themselves in cologne/perfume they are in fact stressing the importance of the event they are about to attend. 
In the Tanach, Nevi'im explain that once (BH Bemhera Beyamenu) Mashiach comes, he will be able to tell if someone is a Tzadik or a Rasha based on their spiritual "smell." 
We need to understand and really let the fact sink in: IT IS EASY AND FAVORABLE (just we don't know it yet) TO LIVE A LIFE OF TORAH & MITZVOT & DIVUK B'HASHEM!
The Yetzer Hara puts a spell on all of us to try to push us to believe that we cannot do it. But, obviously, we can.
It's really as simple as "I accept." 
We all need to understand just as easy as it is to spray oneself with a physical fragrance, it is as equally easy to right away accept the EMET (truth) that this world is controlled by G-d, revolves around the Torah HaKdosha, and the fact that we HAVE TO take it upon ourselves to be the Soldiers of Hashem (and cannot run away from it).


B'H Lichvod the Shabat that just past, we will all understand that it is IN OUR FAVOR and NOT UP TO US that Hashem is in control and that we need to stay Jews, with the boundaries that the Torah installs upon us.
