Repetition of Shabat HaGadol Halachot:
1. The Shabat before is called "Shabat HaGadol" because of the miracle that happened during the Shabat before Yetziyat Mitzrayim {Am Yisrael left Mitzrayim on a thursday and the shabat before, all of the Am who left, tied a lamb-the god of the egyptians-to slaughter as a korban for Hashem in thanks, and the Egyptians, as mad as they got, could not do anything to retaliate}. The haftarah of Shabat HaGadol is called "VeArva LeHashem."
2. The people who are cautious on the smallest details, say Shabat HaGadol U'mevorach instead of Shabat Shalom U'Mevorach on Shabat HaGadol.
Halachot of Pesach:
1. Dried fruits like raisins, plums, and the like are often said to be not allowed by our Ashkenazi brothers unless its for medical purposes but us Spharadim and the yehudim from Edut HaMizrach are lenient and eat these dried fruits. However, we do need to be cautious with dried dates that sometimes are dried with flour (causing it to be chametz).
2. One needs to be cautious on Pesach not to buy any seeds (Garinim) and/or nuts unless the merchant has a Kashrut certificate that can be trusted because the salt of these nuts and/or seeds (watermelon, sunflower, pumpkin, etc.) is usually mixed with flour.
