KOL HASHONEH HALACHOT BECHOL YOM MUVTACH LO SHEH'HOO BEN HA'OLAM HABA

1. There are differences in regards to correcting the Ba'al Koreh if he made a mistake. If the mistake is such where the meaning of the mistaken word stated is the same as the word written, then the Ba'al Koreh can continue [ex. saying Yehudim instead of Yehudi'im]. BUT when the mistaken word changes the meaning of the word, then the Ba'al Koreh has to repeat the pasuk correctly [ex. saying Nofel-present tense instead of Nafal-past tense]. No one can speak when the Kriya is taking place until the Megillah is read fully and the last bracha is said, and if one did speak, he/she should repeat the pasuk that was being read when they spoke and continue following the Ba'al Koreh silently.


2. Our custom is to read out loud 4 psukim regarding the Geula: "Ish Yehudi Haya BieShushan...," "Balayla Hahu Nadedah...," "U'Mordechai...," "LaYehudim Hayta Ora VeSimcha...," and in Yerushalayim their custom is to add the last pasuk of the Megillah to be read out loud also. The reason for reciting these psukim out loud is to bring Simcha to the little children. The Ba'al Koreh needs to repeat the specific pasuk when the entire minyan finished reciting the pasuk out loud because the mitzvah of Kriyat HaMegillah is to listen to the ENTIRE Megillah from the actual text.
