B'H Yishtabach Shmo La'ad! We are in Yerushalayim Ir HaKodesh continuing the Limud on Megillat Ester:
We have reached Perek Bet, Pasuk Aleph: "After these events, when King Achashverosh's wrath had abated, he remembered Vashti and what she had done and what had been decreed upon her (chabad.org)"
Rashi explains what it means that Achashverosh "zachar et vashti," remembered vashti. Rashi explains that when Achashverosh remembered her, he didn't remember her personality, her love, her affection towards him, her careness towards other people, or anything of that sort, he actually missed her beauty and he was upset. What does this remind us of? An animal. A male animal only misses a female animal when it cannot receive any pleasure from the female.
This gives us chizuk in the concept of finding a shidduch, a soulmate, a real Eshet Chayil. Gan HaEmunah by Rav Alush explains that an Eshet Chayil is one who devotes herself completely to Hashem, who is a real Yere Shamayim. Who is this in the history of the Yehudim? Chazal say that Bruria was an Eshet Chayil. What happened that made her an Eshet Chayil? One Lel Shabat both her two sons passed away. In order not to bring any suffering on her husband, which was a huge Tana, she made up an excuse why they wouldn't come to the Beit Midrash to learn and only told him after the Melaveh Malka! She understood the greatness of Shabat Kodesh. This does sound fanatic, but its only because our generation is in such a low level. We have to understand that life is Judaism, and Judaism is NOT part of life.
B'H May we all have the zchut to pray to Hashem to WANT to understand a little of the power of the Torah, Shabat, Kashrut, Tefillah, etc.
CHAG SAMEACH! B'H PURIM IS IN 3 NIGHTS(NY), 4 NIGHTS (YERUSHALAYIM)!
