CLD #202

Megillat Ester's Perek Aleph Psukim Yud and Yud Aleph are simply amazing. There is just no need to even explain the Pasuk itself! The Pasuk reads: " (10)On the seventh day, when the king's heart was merry with wine, he ordered Mehuman, Bizzeta, Charvona, Bigta, Avagta, Zeitar and Charkas, the seven chamberlains who attended King Achashverosh, (11) to bring Queen Vashti before the king wearing the royal crown, to show her beauty to the nations and ministers, for she was indeed beautiful."(chabad.org). Wait, what is so special about these psukim? Besides the fact that it is Vashti's death time anddd it brings more proof that whatever happens, with the whole story laid out together, is seen 100% that G-d is in control, we see another unbelievable inspiring chizuk element fromt Masechet Megillah! Why does the pasuk tell us that on the Seventh Day Achashverosh instructed his servants to bring out Vashti? The Gemara brings down an amazing point. The Gemara reveals to us that the Midah KeNeged Midah concept is so serious and strong, that it even falls out in the Story of Ester. First of all the Seventh Day was actually Shabat Kodesh. What would Vashti HaResha'ah do to Bnot Yisrael on Shabat Kodesh? She would intruct them ON SHABAT KODESH to undress fully and do Melacha (Chilul Shabt/ break the Shabat)! Hashem Yerachem, this further shows us that our enemies know that all our power is in our Keeping of the Mitzvot and she tried to reduce their status by taking the Shabat Kodesh away from them Miskenot! What was the Midah KeNeged Midah (what goes around comes around) factor here? Achashverosh DAVKA (on purpose from Shamayim) sent his servants ON SHABAT KODESH to command Vashti HaResha'ah to come out undressed to show off her beauty!
We see how important and serious all our actions are! Whenever we do something, we need to know that its mirror image befalls upon us in the future, for example, in order to pay for our sins, Hashem punishes us based on how we judge other people. If John Doe saw Person A do a horrible Avera (sin) and judges him, when John Doe will do (hopefully not) the same Avera, he will be judged on how he judged Person A.

What goes around comes around. The Goyim took the concept from us.
B'H we will learn to be careful with our actions to the tiniest detail!
SHAVUA TOV & CHODESH TOV.
