Not even close to Achashverosh's decorated garden, but close enough. |
B'H PURIM IS IN LESS THAN 3 WEEKS!
Perek Aleph Pasuk Heh (5) in Megillat Ester is translated into this: "And when these days came to an end, the king made a seven-day feast in the courtyard of the king's palace garden, for all the people in Shushan the capital, nobleman and commoner alike. (Chabad.org)" What does it mean the Chatzer (courtyard), Gina (garden), Bitan HaMelech (king's palaca)? Why is it specifically in this order? Basically: what is going on here, what can we learn from this?
Achashverosh's courtyard, maybe? |
The Gra brings a remarkable concept from the Gemara that connects with this pasuk. In Masechet Megillah, the Gemara says that Achashverosh put all the people of Shushan in his courtyard, then opened up two curtain like entrances from opposite sides of the courtyard letting the people decide either to go into the garden or the king's palace itself. Basically, Achashverosh gave the people the ability to decide between two destinations. The Gra explains that in the direction that man wants to go will be the direction that Hashem puts him in ( "In Hebrew: BaDerech SheAdam Rotze Lilech Molichin Oto" )! What does this mean? MAN CHOOSES WHERE HE GOES. If John want to run a HASHEM YERACHEM women-trafficking business in the U.S. with proper investments and ratzon John will (G-d Forbid)our generation's modern-orthodox (is there such a thing?), reform "Judaism" (which is considered worse than converting), conservatism etc. are all forms of trying to change the Torah and Mitzvot that Hashem gave us through Moshe Rabbeinu and the Rabbanim up till today. succeed! Hashem does not interfere (to an extent) with our decisions. We have Bechira Chofshit, Free-choice, to choose between good and evil, and unfortunately there is no "in-between," If you choose nto following the good 100% then you choose the bad. In our generation there is NO IN BETWEEN. We need to know that if we decide to follow the Torah and Mitzvot its either we follow it all the way or just give up on it all.
The way that you want to go is the way you will go.
IT IS ALL UP TO YOU.
It's either you're in it to win it, or you're just out.
B'H we'll all have the zchut to throw away the unnecessary and only strive to accomplish the necessary.
Judaism=Think. Why are you in this world?
