There is always something to learn, no matter what situation one is in. So, today I was standing outside on the pohne asking myself: What can I learn to B"H be an Eved Hashem right now? I was on the phone standing at the corner of E28th st and Lexington Ave., and saw that there wee a bunch of buildings/skyscrapers blocking the sun from lighting onto the street. I asked myself: What are the obstacles in the way? Obviosuly, the buildings! There are so many buildings in NYC! They are everywhere, but at the same time the sun comes and succeeds in heating up the area. So?
In our life, especially in the spiritually dark generation we live in, the entire spectrum that we try to perfect ourselves in is full of obstacles, of the yetzer hara telling you to fail, of buildings of tumah taking over trying to take out the sun, take out the kdusha, take Hashem out of the picture of life. We need to learn that no matter how dark and cold our world gets (hopefully it will only get better), Hashem is always with us. There will always be a corner to go when you need the sun, when you realize you have to get some of that ruchniyoot to continue living.
B"H May we always search for the holiest places, always strive to reach those hotspots. Where are they today? In yeshivot and Batei Knesiyot.
SHABAT SHALOM!
Smile, Cuz Hashem loves you.
