Yesterday we got the zchut to meet many Rabbanim tzadikkim of our dor! Including Rav David Abuchatzera shlit'a, Rav Chaim Kanyevski shlit'a, and Rav Shteiman shlit'a we met Rav Berel from Bnei Brak shlit'a. Rav Berel immediately told the group of students a dvar torah about this weeks Parasha: Parashat Beshalach. In our Parasha, Moshe, Aharon, Miriam and Bnei Yisrael sing "Az Yashir" to HaKadosh Baruch Hu! The Rav explains that in "Az Yashir," Bnei Yisrael are singing about the future! How come? Bnei Yisrael are singing about the future. When a salesman attempts closing a sale and succeeds to get the buyer to sign, he is the happiest person in the world! Even though he still doesn't have the money in his hands!!! Bnei Yisrael knew that they were out of Mitzrayim, out of Slavery, and more importantly out of the tuma and spiritually dead land of the Mitzrim! Bnei Yisrael knew that they were going to a holy place, they knew that they were climbing higher and higher to the kdusha, to a closeness with Hashem.
That is the main point of the shira to Hashem. The Kdusha, the kiruv, the dvekoot ba Kadosh Baruch Hu. Even though they weren't at the moment in Eretz Yisrael, with no Torah, the fact they knew they were on the way to the kdusha was enough for them!
Even more so for us, we are in a part of History where we need to simply push a little bit and we can reach the heights of the Tana'aim and holy Yehudim from past generations.
B'H May we start by appreciating the separation and holiness Hashem instructed us to follow; a.k.a the Torah HaKdosha.
Mitzvah Gdola Lehiyot BeSimcha.
