Story that gave me a lot of chizuk al pi Rav Darmoni shlit'a (who heard it from HaRav Daykan who heard it from HaRav HaGaon Mordechai Eliyahu Z'TL):
Suddenly a high class car pulls up and a man rushes out. He asks how much it costs to fix whatever issue is between the Rav and the Chevrat Kadisha, signs the check, and drives off. The burial commences and B'H everyone's happy.
?
A couple days later Rav Eliyahu gets a phone call that the check bounced. The bank gives the phone number of the donor and the Rav gets in contact with him. The Rav explains that the check bounced and the donor quickly states that he will take care of it and everything will be fine. The Rav says thank you and asks why did the person donate, how did he even get to there, how did he know that there was a financial problem?!?!?!
The tzadik explains: I was driving to Lud (area where Ben Gurion Airport is located) and an old man was waving to me to stop the car. I ignored him. 2 minutes later the old man appeared again, I was worried but ignored him. 2 minutes later the old man again, I got freaked out and picked him up. The old man entered the car and explained to turn around, go to Har Menuchot and pay whatever the cost the people tell him to pay.
Rav Eliyahu asks: Is there anything that you are makpid on, that you force yourself to do no matter what everyday, is there anything that was passed on from dor to dor in your family, is there any time of thing that you are connected to? The donor (who is a French bank manager by the way) tells the Rav that there is a book that he has with him at all times passed from generation to generation. The Rav asks the man to skim through the book. The man freaks out "It's him! That's the old man from the car ride!!!" The book was a book on/including Ta'anit Dibbur (speaking fast).
The old man was Rav Abulafya A'H Z'TL! The old man was the one being buried by Rav Eliyahu Z'TL. Rav Abulafya was one of the biggest rabbis who constructed the Ta'anit Dibbur.
SHABAT SHALOM.
