CLD #141

When we get the smallest cut on our fingertips, we immediately have different moods, feelings, and attitudes towards the day. Why is the human body so sensitive, so weak? Hashem wants us to learn something from our own bodies. We are not supernatural. We are not immortal. We are simply skin and bones.
As we know throughout school and chinuch (parenting) from our parents, we need to learn that life does not revolve around us. Hashem created us with a force (human nature) pushing us to be selfish and another force (our soul) pushing us to care for others. With the body's sensitivity and weakness (even with the smallest scratch on our toe), we learn to be modest. It shows us that we are not "huge" and we are not at the center of the world. Hashem wants us to learn from everything. We have to use all our midot wisely. Take a little from everything. Just like in a salad you need a certain amount of every ingredient, so too the midot that Hashem blesses us with.

Look around at nature and with what we were created. How do you not (Chas VeChalilah) believe in G-d?
