CLD #128

Happy Shovavim=Rashei Tevot (Acronym) of Shemot-VaEra-Bo-Beshalach-Yitro-Mishpateem.
These six weeks symbolize weeks of tshuva and just a simple booming of spirituality in the world.
These parshiyot discuss the works of Hashem in the land of Mitzrayim, the first exile, the first redemption, Moshe Rabbeinu, and the Mesiroot Nefesh of bnot yisrael <women of israel>.
Shovavim began Motzei Shabat and in order for one to take advantage of the kdusha that comes into our world, he/she can do tshuva any time and gain a lot.
The Netivot Shalom explains that during Shovavim one should do tshuva regarding the Pgam Brit (or destruction of the Male Organ and its use). The main way of doing tshuva for this sin (which due to America's sexually-free attitude towards sex, is frequent through teenagers and young males) is studying the depths of the Oral Torah, or the Talmud (Gmara). Mekubalim recite special prayers during certain brachot in amida and have fasts throughout these weeks. This is a holy time of the year, let's all take advantage by reading one perek of tehillim everyday (I recommend Perek #47) for this year's Shovavim (takes 60-100 seconds of your 24 hour day).
Through Shovavim, one could reach the heights of the kdusha, emunah and love with Hashem!
B'H  May we all have the zchut of understanding what Shovavim is all about.
Let's pray for Mashiach and love between all Jews (especially the soldiers fighting for our country).
Happiness is the Gateway to Kdusha.
