B'H, OUR TORAH IS SO BEAUTIFUL!
In Masechet Ktubot, the gemara discusses the issue of a father providing his son financially. The Gemara states that a father has to provide for his son minimum till the age of 6 years old. When the commentators, the Ran, Rashi, Rosh, etc., discuss this issue, they explain that since the father is obligated in providing for his wife; so too he is obligated for providing for his child. Why?
Beautiful answer: THE WIFE AND THE CHILD ARE LIKE ONE INDIVIDUAL BEING. When a woman brings a child, another neshama, another Jew into this world of ours, it is like she is bringing more of herself into this world. The Gemara also teaches us that a child is connected to his mother up till the age of six.
This is the reason why when a man is searching for his other half (of his neshama), he needs to find a woman with good midot and chesed.
The link to happiness is the zchut of being with an Eshet Chayil (Mishlei).
B'H may we all have the zchut for a zivug from shamayim bekarov!
RAK B'SMACHOT!
