Yesterday's CLD:
In Pirkei Avot Chapter 5 Mishnah 7 one of the Mishnah authors literally lists the difference between a boor (an individual that has no knowledge) and a wise person. One of the attributes that mark the difference between the two in the Mishnah is the fact that a wise person avoids interrupting another person when they speak.
The Gemara in Masechet Megillah explains that the Pesukim (verses) in the story of Esther teach that Haman was a low-class individual because he interrupted the King in front of SIX wiser individuals than himself. Meaning that even though Haman was one of the Seven Right-Hand Men for the king, he still did not have the highest ranking to be the first individual to break the silence and give his opinion.
What did he do anyway? Say his opinion first. This is a characteristic trait of an individual who does not see other people before him.
This evil of Selfishness is something that lurks in our system. What do we need to practice TOGETHER? The love of the other person and the care we need to input for them. Be'ezrat Hashem bizchut of Pirkei Avot and the power of the Torah we will become more holy for the days of Lag Ba'Omer and Shavuot, which is around the corner, in order to accept the Torah this year again!
