A man is allowed to be alone with a woman in an elevator that has a ride of less than three minutes, and defiitely the man is allowed to be alone with the woman if he knows that her husband is in the city. However, if the woman is dressed in immodest clothing he may not enter the elevator with her.
2. A man is allowed to be alone with a woman whose husband is present in the same city and the husband does not even know where she is at the moment, because the woman is suspicious that her husband might show up. Even if the husband is currently in the neighborhoods across town, it is still considered as if the husband in the city and she can still be alone with a man. However, if the man who got into a situation where he is alone with this woman and has some feelings for her, for example if they were childhood friends or they were related somehow, they are forbidden to be alone together even if the woman's husband is in the city.
