Translated from Yalkut Yosef:
1. It is a Mitzvah to have fear in our parents as it says in
the Torah (VaYikrah 19:3) Ish Imo Ve’Aviv
Tira’u (Every man shall fear his
mother and his father). And Hazal
(our Sages) say Hashem knows that the child fears his father more than his
mother, therefore the Torah teaches to fear the mother first and then the
father. And they continued to say that because there is another pasuk (verse) in the Torah that teaches
to fear Hashem, our Sages compare one’s parents to Hashem!
2. A married woman also is commanded to fear her parents and
therefore she is not allowed to sit in her father’s chair, or the place her
mother sits, and also she is not allowed to call her parents by their first
names and especially she is not allowed to reject or refute their words.
