From Yalkut Yosef:
1. One needs to execute the law of Shabbat via two loaves of bread to remember what the Torah says about Shabbat: “It came to pass on the sixth day they gathered a double portion of bread…” After one says the beracha of HaMotzi, the beracha said on bread, they take a chunk of bread from the bottom loaf because that loaf is closer to the individual’s hand. Women are also obligated to do the HaMotzi blessing on two loaves of bread if they eat alone on Shabbat (because if they are with other people a man already does it for everyone).
2. The Kiddush we do on Shabbat must be done in the same place
one will eat their Shabbat meal, as it says in the Navi “and you call the
Shabbat a delight,” which Hazal (our Sages) teach means the Shabbat,
the Kiddush, will be in the place of delight, the meal. Therefore, if an
individual heard Kiddush and did not enjoy a meal, then they did not fulfill
the obligation of doing Kiddush. Even if an individual went to another home
after hearing Kiddush they did not fulfill their obligation. One needs to do
Kiddush and eat their Shabbat meal in the same place.
