From Ve’En Lamo Michshol:
1. Gabbais who collect Tzedaka (charity) in Shuls should refrain from collecting Tzedaka during Keriyat Shema, Hazarat HaShat”z (when the Amida is being repeated out loud by the Hazzan) and during Keriyat HaTorah (The Torah reading) because these Gabbais cause the prayers to lose focus on the Tefillah (prayer). Therefore, the people running the Shuls should instruct the Tzedaka-collectors to collect either before or after the Tefillah (the minyan itself).
2. A son that has parents who do not go in the way of the Torah
and its precious Mitzvot may continue serving them foods and beverages even if
after trying many attempts to persuade them to bless on food and they refrain
from blessing (saying Berachot) on the food/beverage. With his continued
behavior of great middot (characteristics) and derech eretz, he
will succeed to bring his parents closer to the way of the Torah. And the
words of our Hachamim are listened to when spoken softly.
