KOL HASHONEH HALACHOT BECHOL YOM MUVTACH LO SHE’HOO BEN HA’OLAM HABA

From Yalkut Yosef:

1. If an individual violated the Shabbat by turning on the light, whether it was on purpose or by accident, another Jew cannot benefit from this light whatsoever because turning on electricity on Shabbat is a definite Torah prohibiton. In any case, one does not need to leave their home in this situation, rather one should be cautious not to read using the electric light that was turned on ‘illegally’ and also one should avoid doing any activity that involves the need of this light.

2. An object that was placed in a dark room and on Shabbat one violated the Shabbat by turning on the light to bring out this object, it turns out that one can use the object based on the essence of Halacha. However, one should be stringent upon him/herself not to use this object on Shabbat.

SHABBAT SHALOM!
