For the Ilui
Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L. Lehavdeel For the Refua Shlema of Yaakov Hai
ben Margalit shlit’a.
Translated from Yalkut Yosef Kitzur Shulchan Aruch:
1. One is allowed to read Keriyat Shema in front of a woman who has her face and hands
uncovered, which is usual to be left uncovered, however; if one looks at the
woman in order to enjoy from her beauty even when not readfing Keriyat Shema
one is prohibited from even staring at a woman’s pinky in order to enjoy from
it. Even though this woman is not his wife, only when he is just looking at her
briefly just because it suddenly happened may one read Keriyat Shema.
2. One who is using public transportation to travel and has
women standing or sitting in front of him in immodest clothing must turn his
eyes to his books and continue learning or turn his face to a different
direction and become busy with Torah Learning (or he can close his eyes).
