For the Ilui
Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L. Lehavdeel For the Refua Shlema of Yaakov Hai
ben Margalit shlit’a.
Translated from Yalkut Yosef Kitzur Shulchan Aruch:
1. One who walks into Bet Knesset (Shul) and finds the tzibbur (congregation) answering the
Kaddish “Yehe Shemeh Rabbah…” should begin answering with them and it is best
if he does not answer specifically “Amen Yeheh
Shemeh Rabbah…” rather just Yeheh Shemmeh Rabbah because the individual did
not hear the end of that part of Kaddish. However, if one wants to answer the
Kaddish with the word Amen, they
certainly have who to lean on (meaning according to Hazal there is an opinion
saying they should answer Amen in this case).
2. Just like one is not allowed to pass in front of an
individual who is in the middle of Amidah
(the Tefillah of Shmoneh Esreh), so too one may not pass in front of an
individual who is saying the Kaddish. There are those who say that it is only a
stringent act regarding Kaddish because Kaddish is not at the level of the
Amidah. If the person saying Kaddish has reached the part of “Al Yisrael” or
“Yehe Shelema” then one is already allowed to pass in front of him.
