L’yilui Nishamt Avraham ben Ester ZT’L.
1. It is a Mitzvah to light Shabbat candles by the Shabbat table, so one can do Kiddush and eat Shabbat food by their light and this symbolizes the essence of Oneg Shabbat. The ikar of Hadlakat Nerot is lighting them in the room you are eating by. If one wants to light them in their bedroom or any other room they cannot say a Beracha. One must enjoy from the light of the candles even a little time during Shabbat in order for the Beracha on the Nerot not be said in vain (Berachot LeVatala).

2. From the Ikar of the Halacha, one only needs to light
and say the Berachot of Nerot Shabbat in the room they are eating in, because
all the rooms in the home have electric light. However, if one wants to light
Shabbat candles throughout all the rooms in the home they can and may they be
praised, but they cannot say a Beracha on each lighting!
