For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester & Israel Ben Rivka.
Translated from Yalkut Yosef:
1. It’s a beautiful minhag
(custom) to decorate the Shabbat Table with flowers and roses and different
types of scents Lichvod Shabbat (to
honor Shabbat). Also we use these flowers, roses, and scents to say more
Berachot of Besamim to add up to Meah
BerachotI (because one should say 100 Berachot everyday).
2. One needs to say the Beracha of HaMotzi on two loaves of bread during every meal,
no exceptions, to remember the double portion of Maan given to Am Yisrael during the journey in the desert on Friday
(to honor the Shabbat, which would not have Maan
coming down from the sky). After one says the Beracha of HaMotzi, they should
take away a piece of bread from the bottom loaf instead of the top (because we
place both loaves together one on top of the other). Women are also obligated
to do HaMotzi on two loaves of bread
every meal.
