For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L.
One of the Seven principles of Orchot
Tzaddikim’s Bitachon (trust in G-d)
is understanding that Hashem sees our heart! What does that mean? That Hashem actually sees
through our bones and flesh and has a full report on our feelings, emotions,
wants and needs! Orchot Tzaddikim (a Sefer Kodesh on Middot, characteristics)
says this in Sha’ar (gate/chapter) of Simcha (Happiness). He continues to say
on this foundation of Bitachon in Hashem that one absolutely cannot live life
in a lie in front of G-d. There is no such thing!
What can one refer from this? Besides the fact to always feel and
know why we are doing what we do (why we make tea for aba in the morning or
call up ema to see how she is feeling or even why we smile at another friend
who might be upset), we want to take from this a learning of Chanukah.
What is the Greek Culture all about? As we know, Greece was the
enemy of Israel during the war that occurred in Chanukah. As Rav Shlomo Pinto
shlit’a states: the Greeks believed that the Torah was the highest point of
intellect in the world and believed in the power of the Torah to create man to
be the most civilized and productive. However, the biggest problem of the Greek
Culture is the fact that they took everything as Chol (opposite of Kodesh, pure). They saw the Torah as just another
piece of intellectualism, another book in their library shelf!
They did not believe in the Torah’s power to purify and that the
Torah gives Am Yisrael spiritual powers beyond what any brain can understand!
Chanukah is all about being
real with yourself and distancing from the lies of the Greek cutlure.
Are you Greek or Jewish? {Or
a Jewish greek (haha)?}
Praised is the one who puts his Trust in Hashem and then Hashem shall be his trust! (Yirmiyahu 17:7, Chabad.org).
When one goes hand in hand with Hashem and the Torah's law, no outside spiritual force will ever knock him down.
