CLD #443

For the Refua Shlema of Mordechai Tzvi ben Sara & Binyamin ben Blanka.
There was something I had the zchut to glance over the other day. In the Talmud Bavli, Masechet Berachot Daf Zayin Amud Bet (7b) it says something that is more than controversial, its shocking.
The Gemara says like this:
“Tarbut Ra’ah (literal meaning=wicked culture, translared as: a bad son) is worse than Milchemet Gog U’Magog (the war of Gog U’Magog).” The Gemara proves this by bringing Pesukim (verses) from Tehillim. In the verse that speaks about David HaMelech (the composer of Tehillim) and his son’s rebellion (the Tarbut Ra’ah), it says “Ma Rabu Tzarai,” or how many have my adversaries become! In regards to Gog U’Magog, David HaMelech also has a Perek in Tehillim just for the war. He does not include this same phrase in the chapter. The Gemara shows us from here that someone in the direction of wickedness or anything associated with anti-Torah values (which are truly just for our own good and society’s benefit) is worse than war.

This just shows us that everytime we do something that is against the Torah, it is like we are creating a nuclear war. The problem is the de-sensitization of America and the reform movement that causes us to feel like all these things, whether it be clubbing or wasting seed or even stealing; is not a big deal at all. The problem comes from the lack of passion and care.

What is the War of Gog U’Magog, Hashem Yerachem, all about? It is the final war that will boost the coming of the Mashaich, Bemhera Beyamenu Amen! It is known that this war will cause 1/3, 33.3% of the world to be wiped away! It will also contain 7 months of no burials! Hashem Yatzilenu.
The Ben Ish Chai on this part of the Gemara explains that it is such a difficult issue in regards to having Tarbut Ra’ah in one’s home because in the war of Gog U’Magog for Hashem to wipe away 1/3 of the world it is like us lehavdeel (this word is said whenever comparing Hashem to anything/one) flicking away a flying bug. But the difficulty comes from the person him/herself. G-d forbid, when we get into these such low levels of distancing ourselves from Hashem, it is so much more difficult for the person to be saved from this level, because he/she does not deserve Hashem’s help.

We need to understand that no matter what happens in life, it is all Chasdei Hashem, and the fact that we go out of our way (such as spending 100’s of dollars in clubs and bars) to go against the Torah and STILL Hashem provides us with health, happiness and success is unbelievable.

B’H we should all push ourselves to higher levels of Kdusha (purity), because that is where the real happiness and Chochma (wisdom) comes from!

MAY WE ALL HAVE A SHABBAT SHALOM!
