For the L’yilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester, Shahin Shmuel ben Hadassa & Israel Ben Rivka.
Translated from Yalkut Yosef:
1. There are those who say one walks
in public without a Kippa (yarmulke) is breaking the Halacha of not to follow
in the paths of the Goyim (Chukot
HaGoyim) and there are those who do not think so. In any case, in our times
one should be strict and wear a Kippa because the Kippa marks that he is part
of those who follow Torah & Mitzvot, and not the opposite.
2. A person who wants to say a Beracha (blessing to thank
Hashem) on food or a beverage, but he is embarrassed to wear a Kippa; it is better for him to say a
Beracha on the food without a Kippa than not say a Kippa at all, because one
who benefits from this world without saying a Beracha before hand (to thank
Hashem) steals from Hashem.
