Please have in mind to learn these Halachot for
the Ilui Nishmat (memory of/raising the neshama) of my Savta (Grandmother), Ester bat Phrecha A’H, who’s Azkara
(yortzite) is tonight, Yud Dalt Elul (14 Elul).
Halachot of Selichot from Yalkut Yosef:
1. Our Sages have conflicted in regards to the 13 Middot (“Kel
Rachum VeChanun…”) because there have been Machlokot
(positive arguments) on when the 13 Middot actually begin (with what words from
the Psukim >verses). Therefore, we hold not to count the 13 Middot with our
fingers.
2. When we get up to the pasuk: “Shema Yisrael Hashem
Elokenu…” we absolutely do NOT repeat the pasuk twice, rather we let the
Shaliach Tzibbur (Chazan) say the pasuk once and the entire Tzibbur (people at
the minyan) repeats it after him.
