L’yilui Nishamt Avraham ben Ester. Also for SHALOM in Eretz
Yisrael!
From Ve’En Lamo Michshol:
1. One needs to be cautious and careful in general to follow the daily wake-up schedule even if they wake up early for Selichot. This means one should say Birkot HaShachar and Birkot HaTorah before they say Selichot. In Selichot there are Psukim from the Torah (and even praying to Hashem) which are not allowed to be said if one didn’t say Birkot HaTorah .
2. A couple is allowed to get married during the Chodesh of Elul, and there is no suspicion to avoid getting married whatsoever on Chodesh Elul.
