L’yilui Nishamt Avraham ben Ester, Shahin Shmuel
ben Hadassa &
Israel Ben Rivka.
From Yalkut Yosef:
1. The Tefillot
(prayer) of Rosh HaShanah should be said with happiness and a good heart. We
say these Tefillot with big kavana
(focus & intention) because we are sure that Hashem will find us innocent
in the judgment for the year.
2. Even though we say Tefillot with big kavana, happiness and in good will, we do not say Hallel (the
prayer of Rosh Chodesh and Chagim) because at the same time we need to stay in
fear that we are about to enter a court case with HASHEM who sees everything as
The Judge.
