From HaBayit HaYehudi:
1. Sefirat HaOmer needs to be said while standing, because in the Pasuk from the Torah that speaks about the Mitzvah of Sefirat HaOmer it says "BeKama," and one should read it as "BaKamo," which means while staning. However, Bedie'eved, the least best way, one who is a Zaken (70+) or is sick can fulfill the Mitzvah of saying the Bracha of Sefirat HaOmer while sitting.
2. The time to say Birkt Sefirat HaOmer is anytime during the night. This means the best time to say the Bracha is after Kadish Titkabal of Arvit (After Shir LaMa'alot), but the Minhag in Yerushalayim Ir HaKodesh is to count after Alenu LeShabe'ach. After the Bracha, we say the Mishpat: "HaRachaman..." (in the Siddur) followed by "LamNatzeach Bigninot" and "Ana Bekoah."
From Me'En Lamo Michshol:
1. When G-d forbid, a family member passes away, the family of the deceased cannot follow the customs of the Goyim, who tend to scratch themselves from pain and suffering, because Am Yisrael, who is Kadosh, cannot follow this horrible custom! One who scratches him/herself G-d forbid is liable for the punishment of Malkot (lashes), so too, one is not allowed to hit themselves for the purpose of bleeding. One needs to explain to the mourning family to accept everything with love because soon B'H Bemhera Beyamenu we will see the deceased soon because of Techiyat HaMetim.
2. The Torah HaKdosha made it Assur (not allowe) to shave using a knife/razor because it says "Lo Tashchit Pe'at Zkanecha." Whoever shaves using a razor and violates this halacha, in reality violates 5 different laws, and in the future will come back as a Gilgul of a cow (if he does not do tshuva), and this is more stringent than eating pig. It is a Mitzvah to notify the public that one is not allowed to use razors. Also those who use shaving machines should be cautious not to press the machine too close to their skin because this causes the hairs to be plucked out with the hair roots (which is not allowed)! A man is not allowed to pluck or dye any of his white hears in his hair or beard, because this is a woman's custom, which a man is not allowed to follow.
