1. It is recommended and "tov" according to Rav Ovadya Yosef to learn an hour of Torah before Seudat Purim or during the Sedua itself. It's best to learn the first Halachot of Pesach because we always want to connect one Geula (redemption of Purim) with another (Yetziyat Mitzrayim).
2. It is good and recommended to fill the Seuda with songs praising Hashem Yitbarach, to thank Him because it is simply pleasant to, for all the good He does for us :D.
