CLD #135

Our life, as beautiful as it is, is exactlyyyyy like an ATV ride. When one goes on an ATV he/she has full control, she/he has an origin and a destination. He/She can drive as fast as they want, as slow as they want, as happy or sad as they want. On 99% of ATV trips there are hills, rivers, swamps, you name it. Throughout the entire journey there are beautiful sceneries to gaze in wonders at and just simply fall in love with nature and forget about your destination.
Our life can be controlled by us, simply by our thoughts. If we pretend we are happy, eventually we will become happy. If we transform a situation in the biggest most negative event in the world, it will becoming a disaster. In the end, the direction we take is in our control. At the same time, the geographic area, the weather, the circumstances when driving is not in our control. Same with our lives, G-d controls the ups and downs, the unexpected weather disasters, or simply the surprising events that make us believe our life is going down the drain. We can also see the Yetzer Hara through this metaphor. The Yetzer Hara wants us to speed, wants us to forget about the dangers of driving fast and swerving. Wants us to stop and look at the view and take the free-country approach and forget about the destination. We need to learn to control the Yetzer and say "I am the driver." We need to simply be happy and let life be with the attitude that there is someone who is controlling the circumstances, Hashem Elokeinu, and there is a destination. Olam Haba.

Smile, because as difficult as you think it is, it is all in your control, in your hands.

We can all beat the Yetzer Hara, no matter what he is for you.
Its all a matter of overcoming the urge again and again.
